“My name is Tim Shellhammer, and I have over 39 years of experience in residential construction. Encompassing 28 of those years, I worked with a high-end custom residential builder in Wilmington. I started as a journeyman carpenter and advanced to project manager, later serving as director of field operations and corporate secretary. When the owner retired and the company was dissolved, I took that experience and founded The Shellhammer Group LLC in 2023.
I hold a current North Carolina unlimited general contractor’s license and serve as the qualifier for my company. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to build lasting relationships with homeowners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and local building officials across New Hanover County, including the communities of Figure Eight and Landfall.
The respect, trust, and collaboration of various professional team members and associates built over the years through the good, the challenging, and the unexpected are truly priceless. Hey, I’m Becky! I joined The Shellhammer Group in August 2026 as the Administrative Bookkeeper. I help keep everything organized behind the scenes by managing invoices, processing accurate and timely payments, maintaining financial records, and supporting the day-to-day needs of the team. I’ve always enjoyed working with numbers, but I especially love being in a supportive role where I can help my coworkers and bring a little positivity to their day.
I was born and raised in Wilmington, which makes me a true Wilmington unicorn! I earned my associate degree in accounting from Cape Fear Community College and have worked in several different roles throughout my career, primarily in accounting. I even had my esthetician license at one point! As for how I found my way to The Shellhammer Group, I like to say it was fate.
I’m happy, upbeat, and loyal, and I hope everyone I work with experiences my proactive, trustworthy, caring, and customer-focused nature. Outside of work, I love playing Rummy with my family, spending time with my daughter, Abby, browsing our local Ultas, and grabbing a bite at Rucker Johns—if you know, you know!
Hey, I’m Caroline! I’m the Operations & Project Coordinator at The Shellhammer Group, which basically means I’m the friendly voice behind the emails, the organizer of all the moving pieces, and the person who genuinely loves a good punch list. I help coordinate projects, communicate with homeowners and subcontractors, manage schedules, and keep track of all the little details that help move a project forward.
I earned my bachelor’s degree in biology from UNC Wilmington, but eventually found my way into project management, where my organized and people-focused personality truly fits. I’m proactive, dependable, and always willing to jump in wherever I’m needed. I’m big on clear communication and thoughtful details, and I want every homeowner to feel informed, cared for, and genuinely excited about the work happening in their home.
Outside of work, I’m usually spending time with my husband, Justin, and our chocolate Lab, July. I love being outside, going to the beach, taking July for walks, spending time with our family and friends, and occasionally tagging along with Justin for a round of golf. I’m happiest when I’m surrounded by the people I love, preferably somewhere near the water with July close by!
