A Note From Our Owner, Tim Shellhammer

“My name is Tim Shellhammer, and I have over 39 years of experience in residential construction. For 28 of those years, I worked with a high-end custom residential builder in Wilmington. I started as a journeyman carpenter and advanced to project manager, later serving as director of field operations and corporate secretary. When the owner retired and the company was dissolved, I took that experience and founded The Shellhammer Group LLC in 2023.

I hold a current North Carolina general contractor’s license and serve as the qualifier for my company. Throughout my career, I have been fortunate to build lasting relationships with homeowners, architects, subcontractors, suppliers, and local building officials across New Hanover County, including the communities of Figure Eight and Landfall.

The respect, trust, and teamwork built over the years through the good, the challenging, and the unexpected are truly priceless. I am grateful for the opportunity to continue doing what I love, helping bring people’s visions to life through quality craftsmanship and attention to detail.”

Office Manager

I began with The Shellhammer Group in July of 2025 as Office Manager. How I got here… After moving from Wilmington to Georgia, I received my BS from Ga. Southern University in ’91. Post graduation I relocated to Memphis where my career began in Operations Management in the employment field to VP of Operations in the transportation/ logistics industry. I later became an Independent Agent for a global logistics company. After moving back to Wilmington I decided to shift gears and was fortunate to find my place with The Shellhammer Group.

Caroline Wilson

Project Manager Assistant

Hey, I’m Caroline. I’m the Assistant Project Manager at The Shellhammer Group, which basically means I’m the friendly voice behind the emails, the organizer of all the moving pieces, and the one who loves a good punch list. I’m big on clear communication, clean details, and making the building process feel exciting instead of overwhelming. When I’m off the clock, I’m usually with my fiancé Justin and our chocolate lab July, ideally outside, at the beach, or tagging along for a round of golf.
